Li K. Wang nasceu em Taiwan e emigrou-se para o Brasil em 1969. Ele formou-se pela USP na area de engenharia mecânica. Depois de trabalhar um ano no Brazil, mudou-se para os Estados Unidos onde obteve o título de Mestre de Engenharia Elétrica. Li trabalhou como engenheiro eletrónico por 13 anos na Bell Laboratories. Li voltou-se a estudar o direito e obteve o título de doutor jurídico. Li começou trabalhar como advogado na área de propriedade industrial em 1999. Li especializa na área de engenharia mecânica e elétrica.
